RELATIONS WITH KNOWLEDGE/UNIVERSITY: PERSPECTIVES OF ACADEMICS OF THE UFT HISTORY COURSE (ARAGUAÍNA-TO)
Abstract
This article investigated academic relations of the History Course, Federal University of Tocantins (Campus de Araguaína) with knowledge and university. Thus it selected questions of self-assessment activities answered by students in four disciplines. Discussing with Bernard Charlot, students' perspectives on studying and learning were problematized. The act of studying was understood as something natural and, in some cases, as an activity involving dedication, discipline and organization. It displayed that students do not always understand that to learn it is necessary to have intellectual activity. To study to have a profession and a job, to learn to become a better person and to transform the environment in which they live, were relations with the knowledge that emerged from the stories. Thus, the research emphasized the importance of understanding the relationship between students and higher education, with the university, with the teachers and with the knowledge necessary for teacher training.
