A INVESTIGAÇÃO DO PERFIL DOS ALUNOS COMO ESTRATÉGIA DE ENSINO DE LÍNGUA INGLESA NO ENSINO SUPERIOR
Abstract
Overcoming the dissociation between disciplinary and pedagogical knowledge must be a permanent goal in teaching programs. The current study introduces the suitability of a methodology regarding the field of Psychology adopted by an English Language professor, in a Language Program, at the Federal University of Tocantins, Porto Nacional campus. After the results of a test, which had revealed a decreasing learning level among the students, the English Language professor with the help of the Psychology professor from the program, designed a profile check questionnaire, aiming at checking the amount and quality of students’ reading, motivation and/or factors involved in (un)doing the readings, as well as the “ideal” parameter of reading. Data increased the knowledge of the English Language professor on the social and psychological factors underlying students’ learning process and pointed to the need of a methodological and evaluative adaptation under a multimodal approach.
