The present study aimed to evaluate plant extracts from the Ecotone-Cerrado-Amazon with ectoparasitic
potential in Boophilus microplus nymphs. Extracts made from natural plants of the Ecotone Cerrado Amazon
were tested, the tested species were: Bowdichia virgilioides Kunth; Dipteryx alata Vogel; Siparuna guianensis
Aublet; Tabebuia aurea (Silva Manso) Benth. & Hook. F. ex S. Moore; Treema micrantha (L.) Blume. The
sensitivity research methodology will consist of an “in vitro” test by immersing the nymphs in hydroalcoholic
extracts, made by macerating the young leaves of the plants and conducted in a BOD-type greenhouse. With
the aid of the optical microscope, the efficiency in relation to the lethality occurred in the groups treated with
the extracts and control groups. Observations were made at 1, 12, 24, and 48 hours after application. The
experiment had seven treatments with three repetitions in each treatment and ten nymphs in each Petri dish. The data were duly recorded in a proper form containing the main variable of the research: mortality of the
nymphs of Boophilus microplus and the data were analyzed in the Scott-Knott Test (1974) at 5% probability.
The hydroalcoholic extract of young leaves of Dipteryx alata, Siparuna guianensis, and Bowdichia
virgilioides, respectively, showed the best results in ectoparasitic control in Boophilus microplus nymphs.
