Abstract

This paper aims to describe the use of recyclable toys and games in pedagogical planning and its implications for child development from the perspective of Piaget and Vygotsky, as well as to evaluate the relevance of this practice in the construction of an environmental education. Therefore, a toy workshop was developed using disposable materials at the Municipal School Djalma Maranhão located in the neighborhood of Felipe Camarão, Natal / RN, with children between 6 and 9 years old of the initial years of Elementary School. This activity encouraged children to build their own toys by re-signifying recyclable objects, enhancing the development and stimulation of their imaginative, motor and cognitive capacities, proposing a way to reduce the problem of unnecessary waste disposal. In summary, the present study brings subsidies to education, psychology and related areas, promoting contributions related to teaching-learning of children in pedagogical practice from the perspective of play.
