The objective of this work was to describe the physiological effects of nitrogen fertilization (N) through growth and concentration analysis of chlorophyll, amino acids and total protein in string bean leaves. The experiment was carried out in a randomized block greenhouse with four replications and six treatments. The biometric parameters analyzed were seedling growth and the determination of chlorophyll content in leaves, amino acids and proteins. The analyzes began after 60 days of fertilization. Among the obtained results, we highlight that the urea nitrogen fertilization resulted in higher seedling vigor, such as height, stem diameter, sprouts, leaf area and increased concentration of chlorophyll, amino acids and proteins. Thus, best results were obtained with increased fertilization concentrations. The use of nitrogen fertilizer in 9.54g.kg-1 string bean culture increases the growth and vigor of the crop and favors the increase of amino acids and proteins, especially the amino acid phenylalanine, leucine and isoleucine. Nitrogen fertilization also contributed to the increase of amino acids and total proteins.
