The district of Novo Remanso, located in the state of Amazonas, Brazil, is a prominent producer of pineapple and cassava crops that are vital for local subsistence as well as regional and national supply chains. This study analyzed the challenges faced by local pineapple and cassava producers under shifting market dynamics, characterizing their production systems and identifying impacts and opportunities for agricultural development. A mixed-methods approach (exploratory, qualitative, and quantitative) was employed, combining bibliographic and documentary research with field questionnaires administered to local farmers. The results reveal that while production is deeply rooted in traditional knowledge, it has progressively integrated technologies adapted to Amazonian conditions, enhancing both sustainability and socioeconomic resilience. However, structural constraints, such as deficient infrastructure, restricted access to rural credit, and weak organizational frameworks, hinder the consolidation of these value chains. In conclusion, strengthening these agricultural production chains requires integrated public policies that validate local knowledge, foster technical training, promote associativism, and incorporate technological innovations tailored to the regional reality.
